Setting Up Reminders

Get timely notifications for logging, medications, and upcoming periods.

ℹ️

Device-Only Processing

Lova reminders are processed entirely on your device. No servers involved - your notification schedule never leaves your phone.

Period Reminders

Get notified before your predicted period:

1

Go to Settings → Reminders

2

Enable Period Reminder

3

Choose when: 1 day before, 2 days before, or 3 days before

4

Set preferred time for notification

ℹ️

Discreet Notifications

Reminder text is generic by default ("Time to check Lova"). You can customize the message or keep it private.

Daily Logging Reminder

Build a tracking habit with daily reminders:

  1. Go to Settings → Reminders
  2. Enable Daily Reminder
  3. Set your preferred time (evening works well for most)
  4. Choose which days (every day, weekdays only, etc.)

Pill/Medication Reminders

For birth control or other daily medications:

  1. Go to Settings → Reminders → Medications
  2. Tap Add Medication
  3. Enter medication name (optional - can leave generic)
  4. Set time(s) per day
  5. Choose notification sound

Multiple Medications

You can add multiple medication reminders, each with its own schedule.

Fertile Window Reminders

For those trying to conceive or using fertility awareness:

  1. Go to Settings → Reminders
  2. Enable Fertile Window
  3. Choose when: Start of window, peak day, or both
⚠️

Not Contraception

Fertile window reminders are for awareness only. Do not use as birth control.

Notification Privacy

Keep notifications private:

  • Custom text: Change notification wording
  • No preview: Show generic "Lova reminder" only
  • Silent mode: Badge only, no sound or banner

Troubleshooting

Reminders Not Appearing

  • Check that Lova has notification permission in device settings
  • Ensure reminders are enabled in Lova settings
  • Check Do Not Disturb isn't blocking notifications
  • On Android, check battery optimization isn't killing the app

Wrong Time Zone

Reminders use your device's time zone. If times seem off, check your device's date/time settings.
